This is a composite image made using a Canon T4 camera with an 18mm lens and a solar filter. The camera was mounted on a fixed tripod, positioned on the eastern lawn in front of the science building. It took an image of the Sun in the sky every four minutes over a 3 hour period. Upon completion, I removed the solar filter and took a single image of the sky that serves as the image background. In post-processing the images are all stacked together to form this sequential view of the transiting Sun. In two of the exposures (prior to the peak eclipse), there were clouds obscuring the Sun, resulting in the two missing solar disks.
